Questions
About Compress Image
How does Wemute choose the output format?
With 'Keep type', JPG stays JPG and WebP stays WebP. PNG and HEIC photos become JPG, or WebP if they have transparency, because PNG cannot be compressed much without changing format.
Can I compress to an exact size?
Yes — use the target size option, or a ready-made tool such as Compress to 100 KB. Wemute searches for the highest quality that fits under your limit.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Drop a whole folder's worth of images, set one output for the whole batch, and convert them in one go. Several results download together as a single ZIP.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
