Questions
About MP3 to WAV
Does WAV sound better than the MP3?
No. The WAV is an exact, uncompressed copy of what the MP3 contains — it avoids further loss while editing but can't restore detail.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded, but your browser's memory sets a practical ceiling: files up to about 2 GB work on most computers. The first conversion downloads the converter engine (about 10 MB) once; after that it is cached.
