Convert JPG to PNG
Drop JPG files below and Wemute saves each one as a PNG in your browser. The conversion itself adds no further loss, so the PNG is a pixel-exact copy of the JPG that you can edit and re-save without more degradation.

Questions
About JPG to PNG
Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG preserves the image exactly as it is, but it cannot restore detail the JPG compression already removed. It prevents further loss when you keep editing.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
Not automatically — a JPG has no transparency to carry over. Use Round Corners to add transparent corners, or a background remover for cut-outs.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Drop a whole folder's worth of images, set one output for the whole batch, and convert them in one go. Several results download together as a single ZIP.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Format comparison
How JPG and PNG differ
| JPG | PNG | |
|---|---|---|
| Compression | Lossy | Lossless |
| Transparency | No | Yes |
| Best for | Photos you need to share or upload anywhere | Screenshots, logos, graphics with text |
| Compatibility | Universal | Universal |
JPG: The safest choice for compatibility. Transparent areas become white. PNG: Keeps every pixel and transparency, so photos become much larger than JPG.
