Questions

About WebP to JPG

Why do websites give me WebP files?

Most large sites serve WebP because it loads faster than JPG at the same quality. When you right-click and save, you get that WebP file rather than the original.

What if the WebP is animated?

Wemute converts the first frame of an animated WebP to a still JPG. To keep the animation, you need a GIF or video output instead.

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Drop a whole folder's worth of images, set one output for the whole batch, and convert them in one go. Several results download together as a single ZIP.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
