About HEIC to JPG
Why are my iPhone photos HEIC?
Since iOS 11, the iPhone camera saves photos as HEIC ('High Efficiency') to use about half the storage of JPG. You can switch the camera to 'Most Compatible' in Settings → Camera → Formats, but converting existing photos is quicker.
Will the JPG lose quality?
JPG is also a lossy format, but Wemute uses a high quality setting by default, so the difference is not visible in normal viewing. The JPG will usually be larger than the HEIC file.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Drop a whole folder's worth of images, set one output for the whole batch, and convert them in one go. Several results download together as a single ZIP.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
