Convert HEIC to PNG

Drop HEIC files below and Wemute converts them to PNG in your browser. PNG is lossless, so every pixel from the decoded HEIC is kept, along with any transparency — ideal when you will edit the image further.

  • No upload

Questions

About HEIC to PNG

Should I choose PNG or JPG for HEIC photos?

Choose JPG for sharing photos — the files are far smaller. Choose PNG when you will keep editing the image or need transparency, and file size matters less.

Why is the PNG so large?

HEIC compresses photos very efficiently, while PNG stores every pixel without loss. A 2 MB iPhone photo can become a 10–20 MB PNG. Use HEIC to JPG if size matters.

Can I convert many images at once?

Yes. Drop a whole folder's worth of images, set one output for the whole batch, and convert them in one go. Several results download together as a single ZIP.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

HEIC: About half the size of a JPG at similar quality, but many websites and apps still refuse it. PNG: Keeps every pixel and transparency, so photos become much larger than JPG.
