Questions

About M4A to MP3

Can it convert protected iTunes purchases?

No. Old DRM-protected M4P files can't be decoded. Unprotected M4A files, including all modern iTunes purchases, work.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Wemute converts files inside your browser tab with your device's own processor. The file contents and names never reach our servers, and nothing is kept after you close the page.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded, but your browser's memory sets a practical ceiling: files up to about 2 GB work on most computers. The first conversion downloads the converter engine (about 10 MB) once; after that it is cached.

M4A: Sounds great at small sizes, but some car stereos and web forms only take MP3. MP3: At 192–320 kbps most listeners can't tell it from the original.
